Mohegan Sun Arena                         Uncasville, CT.  March 9, 2017

Sting wowed a sold-out crowd recently at Mohegan Sun with a phenomenal 90 minute performance.  Playing a wide variety of new and seasoned music, he held the crowd’s attention the entire time.  His voice was strong and he could still hold a very  long note and was having a great time on stage.  He incorporated his band throughout the show, which included his son Joe Sumner, who opened for him.

Sting started the evening with “Heading South on the Great North Road”, playing an acoustic guitar, opening for his son.  He then came back and jammed out “Spirits in the Material World” and "Englishman in New York”.
His show was high energy through out and made the crowd sing back to him during “Message in a Bottle".  He even commented that it was great to hear the crowd sing every note to a song he wrote forty years ago.  But, with many timeless songs, how can one not sing a long with him?
Sting incorporated “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill withers in with Roxanne which was a nice twist.
I have only seen Sting perform solo once before a few years ago.  He was a great act to catch then and now, and I would suggest seeing him when he comes to your area.
By the way, don't let the general admission (no seats) floor scare you off. I Thought that would be an issue for some, but everyone was dancing or swaying the night away.
