Seven-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood’s SOLD OUT StoryTellerTour at the Hampton Coliseum was nothing short of ABSOLULELY AMAZING! Arriving an hour in a half before the doors even opened; fans stood in long lines enthusiastically waiting. As I entered the building I was privileged enough to run into one special little fan, Haley Hayes, who was about to live her dream to meet Carrie Underwood. Haleys ‘Make a Wish’ was to meet Carrie at the Country Music Awards 50th Anniversary ceremony along with countless other incredible country stars. Unfortunately, due to the approaching due date of her first child, Carrie was unable to attend the ceremony. By an amazing stroke of luck, the stars aligned Saturday evening, and Haley’s wish came true. TONIGHT she had meet & greet passes to see Carrie Underwood!! Seeing the sparkle in this little girls beautiful eyes when she saw her mom with the backstage passes – you knew it was going to be a night to remember, and I am so thankful to have been a part of her amazing experience. A truly awe-inspiring stage for all three of these amazing artists. Having been a longtime fan of The Voice, I was already familiar with the incredible duo known as The Swon Brothers. Their energetic and dynamic performance was nothing short of spectacular playing tracks from their newest album and closing with the current single ‘Later On’. If you haven’t heard of them – check em out, the new album TIMELESS is available now! Next to ‘Roll With It’ was country cutie Easton Corbin! Easton had the crowd movin’ and groovin’ with hits like ‘I’m a Little More Country Than That’ and ‘Loving You Is Fun,’ along with incredible covers from Toby Keiths ‘Should’ve Been a Cowboy’ and Kenny Chesney’s ‘She Thinks My Tractors Sexy’. Easton surely didn’t disappoint the fans. Check out Eastons newest album, About to Get Real!! The crowd was definitely warmed up and ready…as the lights went down, the center of the stage rose up in a spectacular light show with Carrie dead center opening with ‘Renegade Runaway’. For almost 2 hours Carrie performed tracks from previous albums and gave a heavy dose of her 5th album, Storyteller. Which, if you haven’t listened to the Storyteller album…get it now!! I came out searching for the songs that she performed like ‘Clock Don’t Stop’ and ‘Dirty Laundry’ but it was one especially in particular that hit me emotionally like a ton of bricks. As she sat perfectly perched on a white piano, pictures scrolled above her while she honored her husband and beautiful baby boy singing ‘What I Never Knew I Wanted.’ My heart connected instantly as a mother myself. As if the personal touch wasn’t enough, Carrie continued to blow fans away with her incredible harmonica performance during the gritty ‘Choctaw County Affair’ track along with her stellar vocals on her cover of Dolly Parton’s ‘I Will Always Love You’. The singer closed the evening rising up on her platform in a magical sea of sparkly effects belting out ‘Something In The Water’. The eye-catching light show, gorgeous outfits, remarkable opening acts, coupled with the prodigious vocals of Carrie Underwood … this is one show you simply can’t miss!!!
